 ABOUT OUR RANCH
Christmas Star Ranch is located in Florissant Colorado, just 60 miles West of Colorado Springs, at an elevation of nearly 9000 feet. We breed Performance Quarter Horses and Fine Tennessee Walkers. We are very careful to select and breed only horses we know to be of sound mind and that have exceptional athletic ability.
They are easily trained and have the ability to excel in any discipline. These horses are as correct in their conformation as they get and have no known genetic or physical defects.
When the foals arrive, they are checked and tended, then halter broke at about a week old. They then are sent to pasture with the mares, where they learn to be horses. They cross water, navigate steep terrain, go over logs and around trees and branches. This builds strong legs and develops their muscles and lungs in our high altitude.
This really pays off in the training and performance arena.
Our goal is to produce top quality home bred prospects at reasonable prices. These horses have the ability to perform and win for you at whatever direction you wish to take them...be it Reining, Cutting, Roping, Penning, Foundation, Barrel or Trail Horses. The Tennessee Walking Horses we breed are of champion show bloodlines. These are some of the smartest horses we have ever been around. They are very easy trained and are making great show and trail horses. Better train 'em right the first time...they dont forget!
